Sun - Our Host Star
The Sun is the star at the centre of the solar system. It is nearly perfect sphere of hot plasma. It is by far the most important source of energy of life on Earth. Roughly three quarter of the Sun’s mass consist of hydrogen (75%), helium (25%) and smaller quantities of heavier elements such as oxygen, carbon, neon and iron. Image Credit: NASA/SDO.
